At a stunning value price, this robot pool vac solves two of its competition's biggest faults

The robotic pool cleaner market just got a lot more interesting. Beatbot has launched the Sora 70, a new model that undercuts the premium AquaSense 2 Ultra on price while directly addressing its two most frustrating shortcomings. For owners of the AquaSense 2 Ultra, the biggest complaints have always been its tendency to get stuck on main drains and its inability to handle fine debris like sand and silt without clogging. The Sora 70 appears to have solved both.

First, the new robot uses a redesigned navigation system that avoids the suction traps that plague its competitor. Instead of relying solely on gyroscopic sensors, the Sora 70 employs a multi-sensor array that maps the pool floor and identifies drain covers as obstacles. Early tests show it glides right past them without getting hung up.

Second, the filtration system has been overhauled. The Sora 70 features a dual-layer filter basket with a finer mesh that captures particles down to three microns. This means it can pick up everything from large leaves to the finest dust without the filter clogging mid-cycle. The basket is also easier to access and rinse, cutting down on maintenance time.

The real shocker is the price. The Sora 70 comes in at roughly half the cost of the AquaSense 2 Ultra. While it lacks some of the fancier app features and the ultra-quiet motor of the more expensive model, it delivers where it counts: reliable cleaning without constant babysitting. For pool owners tired of rescuing their expensive robot from the drain or cleaning a jammed filter every day, the Sora 70 looks like a smart, practical choice.
