As we approach the 300-mile mark on our journey, it's time to reflect on both the triumphs and tribulations we've encountered along the way. While people often inquire about our most memorable moments, the less glamorous experiences deserve attention as well. These challenges, though not as enjoyable to recount, provide valuable lessons and insights.
One notable challenge arose as we prepared to enter the San Jacinto mountains. Just when we thought winter was behind us, it made a surprising return at the end of April. This unexpected weather forced many hikers to pause in Idyllwild, waiting out the storms for several days before they could safely continue on the trail.
Such instances remind us that parenting, much like hiking, is filled with unpredictable moments. The highs are celebrated, but it is often the lows that teach us resilience and adaptability. Embracing both the wins and the fails enriches our journey, making each step forward even more meaningful.
